Faith, Labor and Action: One Pastor's Story: A Good-bye Tribute to the Interfaith Council

Rev. Rebecca Kuiken, director of the Interfaith Council on Economics and Justice, leaves WPUSA in July to become a pastor in the Reformed Church of France. For three years she has worked at the intersection of low-wage workers, communities of faith, labor unions, civic leaders and activists for economic and social justice. Rev. Kuiken will share reflections on how her failh supported this work and how her work impacted her faith. Please come to hear the stories , see some photos, enjoy bread and brie and say good-bye to Rev Rebecca Kulken.

National Conference Call:
Public Perceptions on American Muslims

The Muslim Public Affairs Council and Islamic Networks Group invite you to take part in a national conference call on "Public Perceptions of Muslim Americans: Opportunities and Challenges." The 90-minute teleconference will featured an overview of public opinion about Islam and Muslims in America today by the Public Religion Research Institute, followed by analysis by a trio of leading thinkers and practitioners in the Muslim American community. During the call, CEO and founder of the Public Religion Research Institute Robert Jones will present the findings of recent polling about public attitudes toward Islam and Muslims. New York Times best-selling author and media commentator Reza Aslan, ING President Maha Elgenaidi, and MPAC President Salam Al-Marayati will provide their reflections followed by a Q&A period with callers from around the country.

The conference call marks the kick-off of MPAC's quarterly national conference calls on pressing public policy issues featuring subject experts, policy-makers and community leaders addressing community leaders and members around the country.
